Award-winning lake, sky, and landscapes attest to Gayle’s love affair with Lake Winnipeg. She draws on decades as a summertime live-a-board boater and a lifetime of playing on shore to create works that give voice to Manitoba’s prairie ocean. Her works are energetic, confident and take a straightforward approach. Acrylic, watercolour, and clay vie for Gayle’s attention as she splashes and squishes her way through the day.
"I splash watercolour,
I squish clay,
I slip-slap acrylic,
….and it's still not enough so I
scratch charcoal,
smoosh wax,
and scribble conte!"
Gayle is ever-experimenting with a variety of media, but returns to her three loves often. Working away at Studio 410, Gayle fills her days with colour and people. Active in The WAVE Studio Tour, Gwen Fox

Lake Winnipeg as muse....
A live-aboard boater for over 30 years, Gayle has witnessed the changes in Lake Winnipeg. Ever-changing, this great prairie sea can be an exquisite beauty, a fearsome force, or a mistreated mistress.
"Water is a life force that flows through my days as a muse, a metaphor and my media.
I am awash in creative energy

My purpose is to create works that inspire others while drenching my soul with calm."
